What are you doing NOW, to prepare?

So yea, most of us here understand what PO is about, and its ramifications. We also know the hard times are just around the corner. But what are you doing now to prepare?
Even if it is something small or big, where are you concentrating your energies? Most of us have an already stretched budget, so any little ideas are welcomed.
Lets help each other on this one and contribute what we have done, or projects we are working on that others can do in a realistic manner.

For me personally, I have been working on a small 12 volt solar set up. Ive noticed there are used 12 volt deep cycle batteries that pop up on craigslist (new those puppies are expensive). Though they have less life left than new, cheaper is the only way for me at the moment. Some 12 volt appliences.
Ive gone to a diesel car, and store 50 gallons of diesel with fuel stabilizer at home. Multiple propane tanks, and propane appliences. Granted the fuel will run out eventully, but if me and my familly can make it through the die off (sounds bad I know) thats all Im focused on at the moment.
Oh ya, hunting rifle, and ammo (though I guess everyone else will be trying to eat the animals nearest them as well, huh?)
My last 3 burning man's have been field tests for mobile shelter and power.

Learning to grow food in a northern climate, using solar power while seriously gearing down (old school spring house, ice box style "technology"), teaching the children well, relocalizing our resource usage, growing more food!!!, networking with the local community on the issues at hand, making medicine from the earth, growing more food, raising chickens for eggs, composting to create closed loop system of farming and waste reuse, gave up driving, and planting lots of perineal foods that take time and patience for harvest (fruits, asparagus, and the like), and about to convert to used waste vegetable oil for the farm truck, along with stockpiling WVO. What are you up to, all???
Oh...too, seems to me that spending the money on something renewable, rather than non-renewable makes more sense than buying into the petro-craze. (Just a thought) Focusing on the real, more sustainable world we want to see for our families after the "Die off" is a lasting act, better preparing us for the reality (and beauty) of the days to come.
